Nature is the playground for the creative mind and one of my favorite places to visit every year is Roan Mountain when the Rhododendrons are in bloom. I love how the clouds roll over the mountain when the cool winds are blowing. Roaming across the grassy fields and through the forest on the top of the mountain I enjoy the color of the gardens and the view of the mountains and valleys beyond is amazing. It's a place that always brings peace to my spirit and is the inspiration for my new fabric design "summer on the highlands".
